The Elmwood Village Association

Hires Carly Battin as its New Executive Director

The Elmwood Village Association is pleased to announce that it has hired Carly C. Hartmans as its new Executive Director, effective August 6, 2012.  After her marriage later this month, she will be known as Carly Battin.

Ms. Hartmans has been employed by the Buffalo News since October 2009.  Since February 2011, she has served as the Buffalo News’ Promotions Manager.  Previously, Carly had been employed by the Basil Automotive Group in marketing and customer relations.

Carly received her MBA from the University of Buffalo in 2009 and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 2006.

“The Elmwood Village Association is excited about Carly joining us as our Executive Director.  We feel her marketing savvy, her contacts in the community, her leadership skills, and her enthusiasm about the Elmwood Village make her a great fit for us,” said John Kolaga, the Elmwood Village Association Board President.  “We also feel that Carly’s skills are a perfect complement to the skills of Becky Gandour, our interim Executive Director and Business Director.”

The Elmwood Village Association is a community organization whose mission is to work with businesses and residents to improve the quality of life throughout the Elmwood Village neighborhood.
